When self-hosting for a local audience, we want to omit the language selection UI, and omit the unused language resources from the hosting.

Solution:

  • a build-time configuration for single-language mode, in which no UI is shown and minimal resources are hosted. (Resources may include those of a fall-back language if incomplete translations are supported and chosen.)
  • a build-time configuration for which languages are included (both in UI and hosted resources) allowing a subset of available languages.
